sootheTIME Snooze Wrap and Snooze Sack GIVEAWAY

CONGRATS TO TEXAN MAMA!  PLEASE RESPOND TO THE EMAIL W/IN 72 HOURS. THANKS EVERYONE FOR PARTICIPATING! Another fun giveaway coming soon!
*************************************************************************

When you're just spent the past 23 hours in labor with your first child and you are covered in sweat and blood, the nurse coming in and doing the show and tell, "this is how you swaddle the baby, 1, 2, 3, it's so easy," goes in one ear and out the other (unless you became temporarily deaf like I did the week before and after my first labor, then you won't hear it at all!). I can't even tell you how many times I cried out in frustration as what I thought was a tight swaddle undid itself seconds after I completed the task. So when I was invited to an afternoon at the Treehouse Social Club to get introduced to sootheTIME and its fool-proof swaddler, I knew I had to see it to believe it. My kids love the Treehouse Social Club so that's another reason why I was willing to make the drive to Beverly Hills.

We were introduced to the company's zzzTIME products, among which was the perfect swaddle blanket, the Snooze Wrap. The feature that sold me on the product is its built-in pressure relief ring for the head that acts both to give the parent or caregiver a target to center the baby every time and to help prevent flat-head syndrome. Anyone whose child has had flat-head for even a couple of months knows how time-consuming it can be to reverse it, even if you don't end up going the helmet route. Another differentiating feature of the product is its comfort belt that keeps the baby warm when you have to change her, minimizing the likelihood of her waking up while you undo the swaddle. NICE!!!! I almost wish I had a new baby so I could test this out on her. Then I am reminded by Terrible Twos R that I need that like I need a hole in the head. But I digress.

We also learned about the Snooze Sack, the wearable blanket for when the baby gets past the swaddle stage. I've had my kids in wearable blankets till they were 18 months old. It was the only way I could keep them from kicking off their blankets. It would be so funny to watch them get out of bed in the morning and shuffle around in the blanket till I unzipped it. The thing the boys didn't like the most about the blankets, though, would be the heat that would build up during the night and make them wake up. The Snooze Sack has comfort vents to release excess heat. It also has the comfort wrap found in the Snooze Wrap, which has helped relieve the symptoms of colic in some babies. Diaper duty is a snap with the convenient Bottom Up Zipper. You can do checks and changes without removing baby from the comfort of the blanket.

I enjoyed learning about sootheTIME and the company's commitment to spreading the word about healthy infant sleep practices that can help keep the whole family well when welcoming brand new babies. As they launch zzzTIME, they'll be working with the best pediatricians in the US and organizations like First Candle and the CJ Foundation to execute a national media campaign about SIDS awareness. One Random Mommy reader can spread the word by winning her very own package consisting of a Stage 1 Snooze Sack and a Stage 1 Snooze Wrap. Both products are for babies 0-3 months. The Snooze Sack is green and the Snooze Wrap is mostly white with green design accents.

I don't think we had an expert "swaddler" in our house. But with that wrap doesn't look like you need to be an expert.

I like to think that I am the expert "swaddler" in our family. PK always left out an arm or a leg!

Well, my husband and I sure did our share of swaddling with Sarah. Expert? - A tough call. But since the hubby took to it so well and was so much help to me, I'll give the "expert" title to him!

My husband was always the expert at the "baby burrito", no one was kicking loose out of his swaddles. But it would be great to have one I could use for when he's not around and those sleep blankets sound super safe...

My husband was the best swaddler but with our second one it didn't work well so We got the miracle swaddling blankets and it was much better.

Dan claims to be the expert swaddler, even to this day, five years later! For fun, Celeste still asks him to swaddle her sometimes! We take a big sheet and swaddle her up and then she busts out (I guess he doesn't do it tight enough!) Good times! :) I enjoy reading your blog!!

Swaddling perserved my sanity at times with my older son. It was the only thing that comforted and calmed him!

Hi!
My husband was probably the best "baby burrito" maker, as we called it. He could get the munchkins wrapped up really tight in there.

Later we actually took a really big blanket and rolled them up, over and over, and that worked really well, but to get them unwrapped was a chore! LOL

My hubby was the expert swaddler at first, as I recovered from a c-section, but a kind nurse showed me how to do it before we left the hospital. I became the expert really quick! Thanks for the chance!

Oh these are very cool. I loved sleep sacks!

As for swaddling, that was always a mommy job. Looking back, I wish I'd done it more, but since I'd been practicing on dolls since time immemorial, I'd better have been good at it ;)
